Explore ideas of community and family in an urban environment with the artist collaborative Standard Usage Project and patrons of Stella’s Diner. Working with the restaurant’s regulars, the artists use various media including photography, collage, video, oral history interviews, sculpture and music to uncover the interpersonal dynamic at Stella’s. The artwork will be installed at the restaurant throughout October, and the month concludes with an artists talk entitled “American Diner Culture at Stella's.” Participating artists include Standard Usage Project members Margaret Wright, Cole Robertson, Cecil McDonald and Mary Farmilant and collaborating artists Aimee Beaubien, Patty Carroll, George Costas, Jennifer Greenburg, Alice Hargrave, Kate Joyce, Doug McGoldrick, Jessica Rodrigue, writer Lynn Sloan, and oral historian, Konstandina Argyropoulos.
